Cakes by Alison Fawkes is a Cumbrian-based cake maker specialising in extra special wedding and events cakes.

Located in rural Cumbria, I am perfectly situated for a host of beautiful venues in Carlisle, Cockermouth, Keswick, Ambleside, Windermere, throughout the Lake District and Cumbria, as well as Gretna, the Scottish Borders and surrounding areas.

With an inherent passion for baking and design, I combine these interests to create stunning wedding cakes that are works of art in their own right.

Add to this my tried-and-tested flavour combinations, gorgeous textures and the most irresistible taste, and you’ve got the perfect recipe for a standout wedding cake you’ll remember forever – the only issue will be stopping at once slice.

We live in the North of Scotland and contacted Alison about creating the cake for our wedding at the borders. Alison was so helpful and posted out the most delicious cake samples for us to try. We had a rough idea of the style of cake we wanted but we couldn’t believe our eyes when we saw it on the day It was beyond expectations, not only did it it taste AMAZING but it looked absolutely stunning We had 4 tiers, each with a different flavour, and a line of sugar roses that ran from top to bottom. It was absolutely perfect!! Alison also came out on the day and set the cake up for us too Alison kept in touch with us during the process of creating the cake and answered all of our queries as they arose which made us feel completely at ease despite living so far away.
